A Story of Greenleaf Coven part 3- Pagan people, The Spider & The Pagan Pagan show

 Back for this new post.For me the REALLY cool thing in these early times was the people in our community that i met in these early times. Most important were Steve and Robin Lyons.. In my early time with the Coven i was living on the streets and i lived in Victory Mission when it was on Commercial street. I was caught by the director and expelled for owning Witchcraft books and reading them inside the missions dormitory. i was asked to leave for a week. We would ride together to coven meetings, rituals and other events. Then everyone else that was so vital to what was going on. Amber, Kate, Bill ,Monte. Without them i wouldnt be here today. Amber as a Priestess was inspiring. she connected with ritual energy in ways that were very powerful. there have been several rituals that made my jaws drop.Made me a believer in magick for sure. I miss ritual in her back yard. Sometimes Bill and Amber lead ritual other times Katie and Soj. We had folks like Shea. Billy. Cypriani, Mary Jo. Raven. Eric. Brittney. and so many others.

The community was coming together in Back yards. in Parks. On the Square at hangouts like the Moon City Cafe. The Magic Bean and the Outland.. Various friday nights me, Steve, and Robin would go drink tea and hang out at Moon City. Witchs. the College kids. Vampire the Masquerade kids. all eating and drinking tea at the tables on the sidewalk. Sometimes during the day we would go to Moon city and Steve would read tarot for people. it was around this early time i learned of the covens newsletter THE SPIDER, a look at the coven its members and things that were going on in town. Also stories, poems, and Sheas musings from Moon City. The Spider  was given out through many outlets. Myself have MANY of the old issues from my time with the coven.in an upcoming Blog i will post one of my articles.

It was also within the early years that Greenleaf entered the world of Springfield Cable Acess with The Pagan Pagan show. Hosted by Kate and Amber each episode had its own theme such as magick or a Sabbat. or singing and drumming. and often some VERY SILLY skits and other hijinx.Myself had a series i starred in called Worts spiritual journey. It was within these filmings that we had footage of Michael Gammill as Jesus and Robin as a puppydog inside the North Town Mall . So many friends have been on the show. Some that have passed. RIP Jody. Raven and Gene and to those to numerous to name. We would have drummings on the show with folks like Eric Carden. Liz and Jerry. and all the kids and dogs. So cool that we had the opportunity  through Kate and Amber to do this

A Story of Greenleaf Coven part 2-Pagan people, Drumming and Coven rituals

 Hello and Welcome to the next installment on my Journey into Witchcraft with Greenleaf. About a week after the first Beltain in which i met the coven i was invited for the following week to a coven drummng at the Covenstead for Greenleaf. i remember riding with Steve Lyons to Ambers house. the thing that struck me most was the house and how it set back from the street , and setting out on the front porch was a 5 foot Iron Pentacle. Note at this time i had no clue what a pentacle even was. We knocked on the door and within a few seconds i heard the barking of what sounded to several dogs, Amber soon opened the door.

We were early so the only ones who were there were Amber, Jay. Kate , Shamash . Michael and Shea. Roaming through the house was Ambers large Akita named Jim. Soon others arrived. Cypriani. Soj, and some other folks as well . Amber offered her dumbeks and some other drums and noise makers for people to play. The living room had a couch. a big Greenish piano , and on one wall was a large handmade Ankh.

Soon the drumming started and this being my first i was amazed at the feeling of energy that came over the room. Kate and Amber started singing various chants and songs.. It was this day that i indeed learned i was a Jolly Happy Pagan. it was so fun and inviting. i wanted to learn more about being pagan and wiccan for sure.

As time progressed i was invited to rituals at the Covenstead, and rituals drummings and meditations in other peoples homes and public locations. It was during this period that i started to understand Magickal energy more. Rituals priested by Amber and Shamash in the Circle in Ambers back yard were some of the most powerful i ever attended. its great to be all fun but sometimes the rituals were just so transformative. You went home knowing some deep connections were made with the Coven, the Gods and spirits of time and place. There are moments in these rituals i will never forget.

As this was happening my hunger to learn was growing i sought out books and literature that told me more about paganism , Witchcraft. and the psychic abilities Witches worked with. I STILL am learning and growing everyday.

A Story of Greenleaf Coven-My journey into living in a Pagan World

 It is January 22, 20222. in the Middle of a RAGING pandemic. And i started to think about my spiritual life i have now, and where that came from. it spans back over 30 years now . And i gotta say the way this all started for me was the most awesome thing i ever encountered. Im going to recount some things for you so you can see the ways people can have an influence on you. This is my first encounter with Green Leaf coven 

In the late 80s, early 90s i befriended my best friend in life Steve Lyons, an ex Satanist who found Wicca and Witchcraft in Springfield mussouri was involved with Greenleaf. Myself and my other best friend  William Chewie Turner were invited to a Samhain ritual at Busiek State Park by a Stripper friend of ours.So we attended , we sat in the parking lot on the hood of the car, as the Coven sang and Danced around the fire , Thats the way i like it by Kc and the Sunshine band. some wore Robes . the Priestess Amber her High Priest Shamash  and daughter Kate were in circle to. 

After the ritual Steve and his girlfriend Robin came up and talked to us , then invited us to come down to the campfire

We sat and talked with Amber and others for awhile before Amber and Shamash were headed back to Springfield. at this time Kate walked up in jeans jean jacket written all over and boots. long reddish gold hair wearing round sunglasses looking like Janis joplin. She came and hung out and talked as i asked some qoestions about Wicca  and i was like this isnt bad its not Satanic . Kate invited me to come to a drumming at Ambers house a week later, and thats where things started to REALLY happen in bringing me to where i am today..

This blog will be an ongoing series about how Greenleaf has helped shape Pagan Springfield. We are gonna look at the COOLEST people from our comunity. There will be some great storys. no baggin on anyone , just a way to show that our Community matters . Springfield is growing in pagan population. and we will learn about good times, good people , and MAGICK.!!

A Fresh Start A Druids New Year

A Fresh Start

We have endured much together as a country and a world. Now its time to write this. To encourage people,

to give a ray of hope . Challenges have been great for the last 4 years not just in America but around the world. As Pagans and Druidfolk  we can buckle down take care of the planet and each other

There are challenges ahead , repairing race relations, deescalating the police state, equality for men and women , replacing fascist hatred with universal love and understanding. These things wont come easy but we can do it. As Druids, Pagans and such we are tasked to be the teachers and healers of this coming age .i myself will return to teaching, counseling and clerical work in the Druid and Magickal fields. A small burden has been lifted . When you feel like the Gods have turned away they come back in to our lives in a major way.

Honor your traditions, laugh ,cry, and love together. We need to release a wave of AWEN -IMBAS that wipes the slate clean . We will be those who DO the things needed, SAY the things that increase knowledge and understanding . Never feel that we cant do this. WE MUST , so the world can move into magickal being that it was meant to . DIVISION is over Rally together Help ech other, yor familys, friends and neighbors. We will beat COVID, INJUSTICE, HATRED and so many things that are stumbling blocks to this world And in conclusion if YOU ever have questions, doubts or ned a encouraging ear, PLEASE contact me.
